Why we’re taking part.
Te Kura Rautau - Centennial Park School tamariki are doing their part in KidsCanBall this October – a handball-a-thon to raise money for kids in hardship, who really need a hand up.The charity KidsCan supports over 1,500 schools and early childhood centres nationwide, and they’re facing huge demand. They need help to raise $1 million to support 10,000 children with food, solid shoes and a warm jacket. So, we’re doing our part by playing as much handball – or four square – as we can across the month of October.
We will be putting our tamariki to the test in a Mini-School Tournament with loads of fun, spot prizes and donations on the day through a Mufti Day is going to this beautiful cause that our tamariki benefit from. We know our target isn't the biggest but we also know a little goes a long way.
We maybe that "edge" needed to get to the overall 1million target. If every tamariki could feel the love we have through KidsCan - you would be just as humbled as us to see smiles on dials, learners ready to learn and entrepreneur ready for the world!
We believe every child should get to school warm, full and ready to learn. Education gives them a pathway out of poverty. Thank you so much for caring too – every dollar makes a difference.
