1. Introduction
- KidsCanBall 2025 is run by KidsCan Charitable Trust (KidsCan), a registered charity (CC10386) under the Charities Act 2005.
- KidsCanBall 2025 is a fundraising event that challenges students in schools across New Zealand to play as much handball as they can throughout October 2025 to raise money for KidsCan.
- All funds raised by KidsCanBall 2025 will be donated to KidsCan.
- By registering to participate in KidsCanBall 2025, you confirm that you accept and agree to these terms and conditions.
2. Eligibility
Schools
- in New Zealand are eligible to register for KidsCanBall 2025.
- Registration is free.
- To register, a school must nominate a school champion who will lead KidsCanBall 2025 at the school. The school champion must complete the registration form on behalf of the school.
- By registering, the school champion confirms that they are permitted to register on behalf of the school.
Students
- Any is eligible to register to join their school’s fundraising for KidsCanBall 2025.
- Registration is free.
- Any student under 18 years old must have parent or guardian approval to register to join their school’s fundraising for
Individuals
- Any person is eligible to register to individually fundraise for KidsCanBall 2025.
- Registration is free.
- Any person under 18 years old must have parent or guardian approval to register to individually fundraise for KidsCanBall 2025.
3. Prizes
- Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
- All prize winners will be contacted via the phone number and / or email address provided during registration.
- While students who are direct family members of KidsCan employees or board members are eligible to register and participate in KidsCanBall 2025, they will not be eligible to win any Fundraising Prize.
- If a prize winner cannot be contacted within 14 days, or cannot accept the prize for any reason, KidsCan will:
- in the case of the Registration Prize, draw a new winner via random electronic selection; or
- in the case of the Fundraising Prize, re-allocate the Fundraising Prize to the school that received the second most funds donated on its profile during October 2025.
- in the case of the Registration Prize, draw a new winner via random electronic selection; or
Registration Prize
- All schools that register for KidsCanBall 2025 before midnight on 31 July 2025 will go in the draw to win the Registration Prize.
- The winner of the Registration Prize will be drawn via random electronic selection.
- The Registration Prize is a The Hits studio visit, which includes:
- a 30 minute visit for up to 30 school students and accompanying teacher/s and other supervisors (e.g. parents or guardians) to a The Hits studio (Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, New Plymouth, Hawke’s Bay, Christchurch, Dunedin, or Invercargill), during which students will meet The Hits presenters and take part in a recording, at a date and time mutually agreed between KidsCan and the winning school; and
- where the winning school is within a 50km radius of the nearest The Hits studio, transport from the school for up to 30 school students and accompanying teacher/s and other supervisors to and from the studio.
- a 30 minute visit for up to 30 school students and accompanying teacher/s and other supervisors (e.g. parents or guardians) to a The Hits studio (Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, New Plymouth, Hawke’s Bay, Christchurch, Dunedin, or Invercargill), during which students will meet The Hits presenters and take part in a recording, at a date and time mutually agreed between KidsCan and the winning school; and
- Please note that the winner of the Registration Prize is responsible for:
- any transport costs from the winning school to the nearest The Hits studio, if the winning school is beyond a 50km radius from the nearest The Hits studio;
- ensuring that appropriate parent or guardian permission is received for each student participating in The Hits studio school visit; and
- adequate supervision of students participating in The Hits studio school visit, as per its own school trip policies.
- any transport costs from the winning school to the nearest The Hits studio, if the winning school is beyond a 50km radius from the nearest The Hits studio;
- The school that receives the most funds donated on its profile during October 2025 will win the Fundraising Prize of a school visit by How To DAD (Jordan Watson) and The Hits Breakfast Team (Jono, Ben and Megan) at a date and time mutually agreed between KidsCan and the winning school.
4. Privacy and Publicity
- Information will be collected on schools, school champions, students, and students’ parents and guardians at the time of registration for the purposes of:
- displaying schools’ and students’ details on their online fundraising profiles;
- contacting winners; and
- for marketing or advertising.

- By registering:
- schools agree to have shared publicly as a KidsCanBall 2025 participant, and potentially as a prize winner, including on their KidsCanBall 2025 online fundraising profile, the KidsCanBall 2025 Facebook page, and on KidsCan’s social media channels; and
- parents or guardians of students (or students, where the student registering is aged 18 or older) agree to have the student’s shared publicly as a participant, and potentially as a top fundraising student, including on their KidsCanBall 2025 online fundraising profile, the KidsCanBall 2025 Facebook page, and on KidsCan’s social media channels.
5. General Terms
- In the event that a prize or any part of a prize becomes unavailable for any reason beyond KidsCan’s control, KidsCan may in its sole discretion decide to provide an alternative prize.
- Neither KidsCan nor any other entity associated with this competition will be responsible for any late, lost, misdirected or incorrectly submitted information, including but not limited to registrations or funds not received due to technical problems or human error.
- KidsCan reserves the right to disallow registrations in its absolute discretion and without giving reasons.
- KidsCan reserves the right, at any time, to determine the eligibility of registrations and to disqualify any registration or refuse to award a prize where false or misleading details have been given by a participant, or where a participant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, or otherwise than in accordance with these terms and conditions or the spirit of KidsCanBall 2025.
- Prize winners acknowledge and agree that they will comply with all instructions given by employees of KidsCan and other agencies associated with KidsCanBall 2025, and agree not to do anything that may bring KidsCan into disrepute.
- Failure by KidsCan to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
- All decisions made by KidsCan, its employees or agents are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Prize-winning schools are responsible for how prizes are redeemed and allocated to students.
- If KidsCanBall 2025 is not able to operate as anticipated for any reason, KidsCan may amend, suspend or cancel any aspect of the event (including any prize) at any time in its sole discretion.
- Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, KidsCan (including its officers, directors, employees, advisors, assignees, agents, licensees, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies), excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of KidsCanBall 2025, including, but not limited to, where attributable to any of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under KidsCan’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorized access or third party interference; (c) any registration or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected; (d) any variation in the prize; (e) any tax liability incurred by a claimant or participant; or (f) use of a prize.
